The annual Race of Champions has become something of a success over the past few years, thanks mainly to its array of ex and current Formula 1 stars. And this year is, thankfully, no different, with Sebastian Vettel and Michael Schumacher headlining the show.
Speaking about the RoC, two-time F1 world champion Vettel said:
"I have won the ROC Nations Cup four times and I am very happy with this result. It's very similar to the constructors' championship in F1 where you fight together for one target. But I certainly have the ambition to win the individual Race Of Champions as well..."
Schumacher agrees, adding: "celebrating with Sebastian has become a very fun thing to do, so I am totally fine with us winning the ROC Nations Cup again – the problem then usually is the party afterwards which kind of compromises the next day a bit..."
Don’t get it twisted, though; despite the pair’s obvious friendship, Schumacher will be dying to out-perform Vettel, to prove that he has still got the young kid in check. Whether he will be able to do it or not is another matter.
Oh, and to get our British taste buds salivating a little, Jenson Button will also be present at the event.
